Eye of the Storm: Navigating the Modern World (Online)
October 12 @ 7:30 pm - November 8 @ 4:00 pm UTC-7US $100
Do you struggle to keep momentum with your spiritual practice? It is easy to feel one’s energy get drained away and get lost in the struggles and distractions around us. It’s like trying to cross a desert, and holding precious water in a leaky cup with no lid.
This course will teach you about the art of the spiritual container. By repairing the holes in your metaphorical leaky cup, you can redesign your everyday life to be more like you’re in the protective space of retreat.
From years of being a refuge for spiritual explorers, our meditation centre, Clear Sky, developed five key principles of a spiritual container. We share how you can apply these simple yet profound principles directly into your own home, work and life, to enliven your meditation and support your year-round growth.
Class 1 – MON, OCTOBER 12
In this class we introduce the idea of a “spiritual container” and why this is an important element so often forgotten by modern spiritual explorers. We also look at the principle of honoring the space around us – whether our homes, offices, environments, or our own bodies. Paying attention to our space is the first step in creating a supportive spiritual container.
Class 2 – MON, OCTOBER 19
So many of us feel struggle with time management or get swept up in distractions. We’ll explore the art of consciously choosing supportive structures, routines and rituals to help us be present. We also look at the art of skillful communication. How can we have more conversations that energize and move us forward? Supportive consciously chosen structures and healthy communication are the two next key principles of a spiritual container.
Class 3 – MON, OCTOBER 26
For most of us, there are one or two big areas in our life that drain energy. This could be how we relate to money, food, sex or career. It could be our intimate or family relationships. Or it could be a pervasive feeling that we are not aligned to our vision and purpose. In this class we dive into how bringing insight into these areas can powerfully free up energy.
Class 4 – MON, NOVEMBER 2
In Week 4 we explore the final principle of a spiritual container – it’s easier with others. We look at the importance of healthy and conscious community, and ways we can find or develop that in our lives. Finally we explore how bringing together all five principles of the spiritual container can radically transform our meditation and spiritual lives, by providing a solid and supportive platform for year round growth.
