Endangered: East Kootenays' Native GrasslandsGrasslands have some of the highest biodiversity in British Columbia, Canada's most biodiverse province. Particularly here in the East Kootenays, grasslands are under serious threat due to development pressures, disruption of the natural fire cycle, and unsustainable management practices.
One of our ongoing projects at Clear Sky is developing and offering a series of replicable educational courses about our region’s unique and endangered grasslands ecosystem, and what each of us can do to reclaim and restore it in our gardens and backyards, on our acreage and in our parks.
