Clear Sky is a breathtaking meditation and study center consisting of 310 wooded acres at the foot of the Canadian Rockies, with a magnificent view of Bull Mountain. The three-storey, 5 bedroom, 5 bathroom, 5,000 sq.-foot main building is beautiful and comfortable.

Clear Sky is a non-profit, charitable organization created to nurture universal teachings of awakening. Focusing on Buddhadharma and Western Mystical teachings, the center is dedicated to providing an environment for practice and study. Clear Sky serves to motivate and inspire students from around the world, now and for generations to come.

Background
In 2004, with enthusiastic support from Dharma Japan and around the globe, Achariya Doug Duncan Sensei established The Clear Sky Meditation & Study Center in western Canada.

Located outside Cranbrook, British Columbia, Clear Sky serves as a base for universal teachings of liberation, and also provides a beautiful and peaceful refuge for like-minded practitioners of varied traditions to engage in retreats in a supportive setting. In addition to serving as the central teaching and retreat facility for Doug Duncan Sensei and his students in western North America, Clear Sky welcomes other teachers and groups to teach and lead retreats here.

Based on the Ancient Mystery teaching of "as above, so below," the Clear Sky community endeavors to develop personal inner peace and harmony, paralleled with efforts to reflect these values in the center's natural surroundings. Projects are underway to restore the native habitat and develop ways for this erstswhile cattle ranch to coexist in balance with the area's abundant wildlife, which are under increasing pressure from human development.

The Center
Clear Sky's 310 acres sit at the foot of Bull Mountain in the Kootenay Valley of the Canadian Rockies. Most of the property is wooded with second-growth trees, punctuated by lovely meadows. The three-storey, 5,000 square-foot main building is well-vdesigned and solidly built. It features a meditation room, 5 spacious bedrooms (multiple occupancy) and 5 bathrooms, a communal room, dining room, office and well-equipped kitchen. Plans are underway to build a separate temple/meditation hall.

The center is a 40-minute drive from Cranbrook (pop. 19,327). The towns of Kimberley and Fernie are also nearby. This area of southeastern British Columbia borders Alberta to the east and Idaho/Montana to the south. Cranbrook/Canadian Rockies International Airport offers several daily flights arriving from/departing to Calgary and Vancouver.
